The largest and most valuable monument of the city Logs, unique in the country, is Cross fallen heroes on the battlefield for unifying the nation. Placed on Caraiman mountain saddle at 2291 m, this one of the oldest monuments in Romania was built between 1926-1927 by Her Majesty Queen Mary.  Placed on a concrete base, the cross is made of steel sections, and inside it was a room that originally housed a dynamo-electric generator which supplied the 300 bulbs of 500 watts each. The dimensions are impressive monuments with a height of 48 m (with all the socket) and a width of 14 m. The monument is currently the City Council administration Logs. Today, with dark, Cross on Caraiman is illuminated by 300 bulbs of 500 watts each and can be seen by tens of kilometers away in the Prahova Valley.

Victoria Palace was started in 1937 and ended in 1944. Because of damage caused by bombing in 1944, work was resumed and completed in 1952. Victoria Palace is the work of Professor Mark Duiliu (1885-1966), a pupil of the Higher School of Architecture in Bucharest (1906), and then the Ecole de Beaux-Arts in Paris (diploma in 1912). After a first period of activity, framed first in French academicism formulas, then those of the neo-Romanian style, Duiliu Mark joined the modern trend in the ’30s, becoming one of its main protagonists in Romania.

Originally designed for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this national monument of Romania was during the communist period the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Council of Ministers. In 1990 he became head of Romania’s first post-communist government. In 2004, Victoria Palace was included in the list of historical monuments.

The cross was made out of stone in 1671 by descendants of the Dean of Braila, in honor of Pious Paraschiva and it was restored in 1902 by Nicolaie Stinghe. Why is it called the Musicoiului Cross? Historians have not yet reached a consensus. Some legends say that at this cross a traitor named Musica was killed because he disclosed to the Brasov city magistrate the plan of the Romanians in Schei.
