The Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, will debut in spring 2023 following a two-year, multi-million Euro renovation thanks to an agreement between IHG and Katara Hospitality, the hotel’s owner and developer based in Qatar.
The prestigious hotel, created by renowned French interior designer Tristan Auer, will contain 332 rooms and 37 branded villas. The hotel will become the new generation of Regent Hotels & Resorts’ European flagship property and France is their top country.
“We are absolutely delighted to be working with IHG to transform the Carlton Cannes into a Regent Hotel, providing an inspiring gateway from which to explore the wonders of the French Riveira,” said Andrew Humphries, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Katara Hospitality. “Our aim is to deliver the serene and sensational at every turn. Our significant and continued investment will ensure that the hotel will stand the test of time for many years to come.”
Since the iconic Regent brand joined IHG Hotels & Resorts in 2018, the addition of this hotel network represents a truly historic turning point in that reimagination. There are the best cities in France to visit and Cannes is one of them.
The company, which was founded in 1970 to revolutionize luxury travel, is built on a long history of innovation, breathtaking vistas, iconic locations, and first-rate service.
Along with Phu Quoc, Vietnam, Chongqing, Shanghai in China, and the new era of Regent, Carlton Cannes will participate in the celebration of the most opulent experiences for contemporary luxury trendsetters.
After a thorough renovation, beloved Regent Hong Kong will reopen at Victoria Harbour by the end of the year, and Regent Bali will open at the beginning of 2023.
EMEAA Regional CEO, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Kenneth Macpherson said that one of the most recognizable hotels in the world, the Carlton Cannes has a long history of hosting royalty, statesmen, and celebrities from both stage and cinema. He further added that they are excited to collaborate with our strategic partner Katara Hospitality to bring the reinvented Regent experience to life at the Carlton Cannes. It is a symbol of Riviera glitz. Our goal is to expand the brand’s recognition throughout Europe, and this is just the beginning.
