The Goa Tourism Department recently announced the launch of the Purple Fest, a three-day Purple Fest to celebrate diversity across the state. It will be one of its kind of festivals for people with disabilities. The event will be held in Panjim, Goa, from January 6 to 8, 2023, with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it
The three-day festival in Goa aims to demonstrate and promote diversity in our society.
The Purple Fest will be hosted for persons with disabilities under the guidance of the Goa State Commission in association with the Directorate of Social Welfare and Entertainment Society of Goa. Thousands of physically abled people have already registered for the festival, and delegates from all over the country are expected to attend and be a part of the festivities.
The program is provided at no cost to Goan delegates and disabled students. Each of the remaining attendees must pay INR 1000 in order to register. In the event of group registrations, fifty percent of the registration fees will be waived for groups with more than ten delegates, bringing the total registration fee down to just five hundred Indian Rupees (INR 500). Exhibitors will need to pay a registration fee of 2,500 Indian Rupees to participate in the event.
At this year’s Purple Fest, attendees can look forward to a wide range of exciting live performances, some of which include stand-up comedy, dance, and music events. Apart from this, there are many other fun things to do in Goa that you will get to see at this festival, like sporting activities, a blind automobile rally, bird watching, and exhibition showcasing. Also, anyone who wants to can join live art camps. The event also features excursions to well-known tourist destinations and historic places all over the area.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, “The government will attempt to work hard to make the significant places as well as select beaches accessible to divyangs during Purple Fest.”
