According to the most recent reports received from Mumbai International Airport Ltd. (MIAL) authorities, the flight service at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will remain suspended for six hours from 11 AM to 5 PM on October 18. According to officials, post-monsoon runway maintenance and repair work are to be done at the airport during this service halt. The runway is scheduled to remain closed between 11 AM and 5 PM while repairs and maintenance are done on runways 14/32 and 09/27.
Mumbai International Airport Ltd. (MIAL) authorities, also issued notice to the crew, pilots, and other airline staff about the October 18 flight cancellation. The MIAL also stated that as part of its post-monsoon preventive maintenance of runway intersections, major maintenance work will be done during this time. Edge lights for runway 14/32 and 09/27, AGL (aeronautical ground lights) upgrade work are planned to be done during the suspension hours.
The runway will be closed on Tuesday, which is already the busiest day of the week. Millions of visitors reach Mumbai Airport every day, and this flight suspension will affect them all.
