Synopsis: As India celebrates its 75th Independence, the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) has made free entry tickets for all monuments, museums, and other historic architecture including the Taj Mahal from Aug 5 to 15.
India is in full swing to celebrate its 75th Independence Day this year and bring various plans to make this event successful. Amid the celebrations, the Archeological Survey of India has announced free entry tickets to all monuments, museums, and other such public places from August 5 to 15. Taj Mahal is also included in this list and is expected to attract many domestic travelers in the course of 10 days.
Besides this, the Superintending Archeologist for Agra Circle of ASI said that they are planning to hoist a 50 ft flag at Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri starting from August 15 to mark the occasion. Furthermore, they are making arrangements to illuminate major monuments in Agra which include Akbar Tomb at Sikandra, Diwan-e-khas (Fatehpur Sikri), and Itimad-ud-daula.
He also added, “an extensive cleanliness drive will also be carried out at various monuments from August 8 to August 15”.
Among the 150 water bodies listed throughout India, the ASI has also chosen water bodies at the Gurudwara Guru Ka Taal, Taj Mahal, and Agra Fort for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. These events will serve as Amrit Mahotsav’s primary highlights.
Additionally, from August 5 to August 15, 2022, admission to every monument in India that is under ASI protection would be free. Each of the 3600 ASI monuments in the nation serves as a reminder of the glorious past and breathtaking beauty of India.
Entry to every single landmark, including the Ajanta-Ellora caves in Maharashtra and the Shore Temples in Mamallapuram, will be free for 10 days, including the Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar, and Hawa Mahal in Jaipur.
