Synopsis: Air Arabia will launch a low-cost airline service in Sudan with the contribution of DAL Group and Emirati Air Arabia. DAL Group and Air Arabia make a public announcement about this on September 22, 2022, as they will soon start working on getting the necessary approvals and licenses.
With a prolonged history of establishing low-cost carriers, Air Arabia is again set to launch a low-cost airline in Sudan. This low-cost airline service will be a joint venture between a Sudanese conglomerate DAL Group and Emirati Air Arabia.
Air Arabia Sudan will employ the low-cost business strategy of Air Arabia Group and fly a fleet of brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft while establishing this airline service in Sudan.
The brand-new airline will be named Air Arabia Sudan, and the headquarters will be based in Khartoum International Airport (KRT) in Khartoum.
Air Arabia’s history in the development of low-cost airlines:
Air Arabia has a strong history of establishing cheap flights across the world. The company has co-established four airline services in the last few years alone, with Air Arabia Sudan being the fourth.
Air Arabia Group announced in September 2021 that it would partner with the Pakistani Lakson Group to establish a new airline in Pakistan. The brand-new low-cost airline, Fly Jinnah, will have its headquarters in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, and initially only offer domestic flights before adding international ones.
In July 2021, Air Arabia decided to partner with the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF) to launch Armenia’s new national, low-cost passenger airline, which will be based at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport (EVN).
In July 2020, it introduced Air Arabia Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the government-owned Etihad Airways. The new airline, which was first announced in October 2019, launched its first flight on July 14, 2020, from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) to Alexandria, Egypt.
Along with the recent joint ventures, Air Arabia also helped launch four other airlines in Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, and Nepal. Air Arabia Egypt and Air Arabia Maroc are still in business, but the Jordan, and Nepal airlines have stopped flying.
