Synopsis: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is actively monitoring the situation in Thailand in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic and making regular updates on the latest developments.
The RT-PCR test for the detection of COVID-19 will be made required for foreign travelers arriving from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand, according to an announcement issued by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) India offices in New Delhi and Mumbai have attentively followed this story as it has been reported in the media for any new developments. But neither the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare nor the Ministry of Civil Aviation has yet said anything official about the RT-PCR tests.
The final requirement of the official announcement is based on the “Guidelines for International Arrivals,” which were published by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on December 22, 2022. The “Guidelines for International Arrivals” said that when passengers arrive in India, health officials at the point of entry should do thermal screening on all of them, and 2% of all passengers will be randomly tested at the airport after they arrive.
TAT India offices will therefore closely watch any modifications to the COVID-19 procedure that could have an impact on Indian travelers going to Thailand or coming back from Thailand while they wait for any additional formal notice from the Indian government. Also, they want to talk to their Indian and Thai business partners in the travel industry about policies and rules.
On the other hand, both TAT offices in India tell Indian tourists that starting October 1, 2022, they won’t need to show any proof of a vaccination record or an ATK test result when they visit Thailand. Thailand’s tourism industry is back to normal, and there are no longer any limitations on cross-country travel. All shops, restaurants, and other businesses that cater to tourists are open and ready for the New Year’s celebrations.
With SHA accreditation and protocols, Thailand also ensures the highest level of safety and health management for all visitors and citizens alike. To be careful of themselves and those around them, the TAT advises all travelers to take the necessary health precautions.
