Ellora Caves is India’s one of the most historic and popular monuments are going to become the first historic monument to have a hydraulic lift. The caves are situated in the district of Aurangabad, Maharashtra. This recent development is shared by the senior official of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI).

Milan Kumar Chauley, the chief archaeologist of the Aurangabad circle, stated to PTI: “The ASI has been undertaking several projects to make Maharashtra’s famous monument Ellora Caves, which is spread across a stretch of 500 meters, more tourist-friendly. These projects are either in the process of being sanctioned or being executed.”

30 kilometers separate these beautiful caverns from Aurangabad. For those who don’t know, Ellora is also one of the biggest temple complexes with rock carvings in the world, with 34 caves. There are sculptures that are Jain, Buddhist, and Hindu.

The Kailash Cave, one of India’s ancient and beautiful caves, commonly known as Cave No. 16, is quite well-known. The officer said that since the building had two stories, anyone entering needed to use a ramp or a stairway.

The Kailash Cave, commonly known as Cave No. 16, is quite well-known. The officer said that since the building had two stories, anyone entering needed to use a ramp or a stairway. Even though there is a ramp and a staircase, the ASI wants to put in little lifts on both sides of the building.

As per the official “There will be no construction activity for installing these lifts. The mechanism will be small with 9 square feet area, in which a person in a wheelchair can easily go to the first floor.”

Ellora will become the first World Heritage Site in India with a lift facility that will help in boosting the tourism industry after the installation work is finished.
