At Monumento a la Toma del Tren Blindado learn about the Cuban Revolution. It is a famous national monument in Cuba that features a museum, and a memorial garden. In 1958,¬† an attempt to change the outcome of the war and the site centers around an armored train that President Batista sent to Santa Clara. The train was attacked by 18 guerrillas under the command of Ernesto “Che” Guevara, carrying 373 armed soldiers, ammunition, and two month’s worth of provisions. The officers surrendered after Guevara bulldozed a portion of the track.¬†
